Research
The Cattle Raisers Museum’s collections include book and manuscript holdings, historic photographs, oral history interviews, artifact and educational collections which focus on all aspects of the history of the TSCRA and cattle industry.
The Cattleman Historic Photograph Collection
The Museum’s historic photograph collection houses more than 25,000 images that document the 20th century cattle industry. Originally published in the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association's Cattleman magazine, these images constitute a visual record of the continuities and changes in the cattle industry during the last century. From chuckwagon and rangeland scenes to branding, roping and rodeo activities, every aspect of the livestock industry is pictured. The Cattleman collection includes images by such noted photographers as Erwin Smith and Frank Reeves as well as contemporary western artists.
